About Kathy Dooling

Hello! My name is Kathy Dooling and I have been looking for the perfect home based business for several years.

I tried network marketing back when Amway was the “big one” and the way my upline worked the business was through home meetings where they drew circles to show you how the business worked.

I tried it for a year and never sponsored anyone. I was young and naïve and didn’t feel comfortable with how they taught me to prospect. Go out and invite people to a meeting to show them a business opportunity but don’t tell them what it was. Hmmm, not my idea of a great way to do business!

I really had no idea what I was doing or what a home based business really entailed which is why I failed miserably at it.

I quit and stayed in my job for the next 20 years.

The company I worked for went through several mergers and lots of changes before I was finally laid off. Even then, I knew I wanted my own business, I just didn’t know what it was. I knew that the stress of all the mergers and changes had disillusioned me to “Corporate America.” The company that I started working for and liked so much no longer existed and the leaders that I admired had moved on to other companies.

I thought it would be a good idea to start a business with my sister. Uh, no. See my e-book, Don't Make the Same Mistakes I Did, Mistake # 3.

After both my parents passed away, I felt it was time for a change of scenery and Colorado seemed to be calling my name!

I was again introduced to network marketing and resisted because I wanted nothing to do with network marketing after my experience with Amway.

However, I tried the products and thought they were the greatest and bought into the myth ‘the products sell themselves.’ Yes, the products are terrific and the people I gave them to liked them but, my follow-up skills left much to be desired.

If someone told me they weren’t interested, I left it at that. I wasn’t comfortable with trying to talk someone into something they weren’t interested in. I might have thought it was in their best interest, but, that wasn't my decision to make.

I later learned about Ann Sieg and she talks about this in The 7 Great Lies of Network Marketing.

Ann also talks about ‘attraction marketing’, attracting prospects to you and how it works better if you have your own website.

So, I bought a website. Unfortunately, I hadn’t really grasped the concept of ‘attraction marketing’ and thought that if I put up a website about network marketing and put Ann’s books on there, that would be enough to attract leads to me.

Again, no. See Mistake # 4. If you are not an experienced network marketer, do not put up a website about network marketing!!

It’s a highly competitive field and my website pretty much crashed and burned. I didn’t have enough experience with network marketing to build a website about the subject.

A few months ago, I received an email that introduced me to Steve Little’s The Perfect Biz Finder.

At last! Someone took all the Law of Attraction principles I had been studying personally for the past two years and put them into one comprehensive package about finding your perfect business.

By about the 3rd or 4th day, this website was born. It took a few more weeks before I had it polished enough to put out on the world wide web.

I also thought it would be a good idea to finish the course first! See Mistake # 5.

I love the quote by Thomas Edison when asked about his 10,000 failed attempts, he replied “I have never failed, I have just found 10,000 ways that do not work.”

Isn’t that a great quote? It’s my new mantra! Those other business attempts weren’t failures, they were just showing me what businesses I didn’t want to do!

I now have the perfect business for me based on who I am and what I want to do.

I feel strongly that if you feel called to start your own business, you should follow your intuition. Take a risk, find your passion and create your perfect business!
